My professional journey
I'm a finance manager focused on healthcare FP&A — budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across some of the largest names in the industry. Here's how the story has unfolded so far.
Where I am now
After a year at Aetna Better Health of Illinois managing $45M in medical reserves and delivering claims analysis to the CMO, I was promoted back into CVS Health's MinuteClinic organization — this time as a Finance Manager overseeing SG&A and Cost of Sales. It's a full-circle moment from my rotation days, but with a broader scope and a lot more ownership.
The CVS chapter
I spent three years in CVS Health's Finance Leadership Development Program — a rotational program that dropped me into completely different environments every year. It was a crash course in adaptability, and honestly the best thing that could've happened early in my career.
Managed financials for 30+ departments and built the 2024 budget and forecasting process. Prepared quarterly reports for the investor relations team covering clinic volumes, openings/closings, and insurance vs. self-pay breakdowns. Led the rollout of Anaplan for headcount planning, including training the team on the new system.
Forecasting · Investor Relations · AnaplanManaged $45M in large case medical reserves and delivered monthly reporting to the CMO on key medical and newborn trends. Used SQL to extract and analyze high-dollar claims, eligibility, and diagnosis data. Led MLR compliance analysis and bi-annual Medicaid rate forecasting — before being promoted back to CVS as a Finance Manager.
$45M reserves · SQL · MLR ComplianceMy most demanding rotation — managing hundreds of concurrent requests across competing deadlines while keeping complex project timelines intact. I built a headcount tracker covering 1,000+ employees, ensuring accurate forecasting of hiring, terminations, and promotions reconciled against month-end actuals. Also led system integration training and managed budget finalization and bonus accruals post-transition.
Headcount Planning · FP&A · Budget ManagementMy first real post-grad role. I analyzed $90M in spend and found $11M in cost-saving opportunities through vendor audits and rate analysis — not a bad find for a first year. Also managed $30M in capitation payments, led year-end 1099 reconciliation, and supported external audits.

Tracked $400M in financial impacts from client contract negotiations and built a pricing inventory for PBM clients across 10 business units.
My first finance job. Managed A/P entries, produced P&L reports for year-over-year and month-over-month analysis using QuickBooks.
